COMMUNITY
Believe it or not, Aloha Challenge actually is a demanding, four-week, dual-language immersion curriculum created by Symbilingo, a Honolulu-based educational technology firm. Through our learning method, eight of 12 high school students increased one language proficiency level in just 24 days, as certified by Language Testing International's ACTFL-OPI assessment.
The curriculum is designed to increase students' leadership and foreign-language abilities, while promoting Hawai'i to a worldwide audience. Over 18 of Hawaii's leading cultural organizations and companies cooperated to create experiential learning activities within the following themes: Preserving Hawaiian Culture, Japanese in Hawai'i, and Ecology and Sustainability.
Our seven-episode series and twelve students' film and blog productions will be available for travel, culture, and language enthusiasts at alohachallenge.tv.
